Can You Reuse a Redeemed Download Code on a Tamagotchi Uni?

For a Tamagotchi Uni, check the code’s own type and the device’s downloaded-item list before trying it again. Bandai says limited-use codes work on up to three different Uni devices, while unlimited-use codes can be downloaded to as many Uni devices as you wish. If a code has already been entered on your device, look in Network → Network Setting → Items: a previously obtained item can be downloaded again there without treating the code as unused.

Section 1

Start by identifying the exact code and device

This guide is specifically about download codes for the Tamagotchi Uni. A code for another Tamagotchi model, a different device, or another kind of service may follow different rules. Check the packaging or insert to confirm the code is intended for the Uni and read any printed conditions before testing it. Bandai describes two Uni download-code categories, and says to check the fine print for limited-use codes. Bandai’s Tamagotchi Uni FAQ

If you have more than one Uni, count distinct devices that have received the download. The published limit for a limited-use code is three devices; the fourth device will not accept that code. An unlimited-use code has no stated device-count cap in Bandai’s FAQ. These rules concern downloads to devices, so do not assume that resetting a device or deleting the item restores a limited-use slot.

Section 2

Check whether the content is already on this Uni

Before entering the code again, use the device’s Network icon and open Network Setting, then Items. Bandai says an item received through a download code can be downloaded again from this Items menu if deleted. The FAQ also says a code that has already been used may still let you redownload its item from Items. That means an error or repeat-entry prompt does not by itself show that the content is lost or the original download failed.

Look for the named item in the list and select it to download again if it is available. This is the practical distinction: re-downloading content already associated with the device is different from redeeming the code on a new device. The FAQ does not say that deleting an item resets the code’s device limit, so treat deletion as a reason to use Items, not as a way to gain another redemption.

Section 3

Read the code’s reuse category

Use the wording printed with the code as the deciding evidence. If it is labeled limited-use, Bandai’s stated maximum is three different Uni devices. A fourth device is beyond the supported limit. If the code is labeled unlimited-use, Bandai says it can be downloaded to as many Uni devices as desired. Bandai gives early-purchase Tama Sticker codes as a limited-use example, and the PINK BOW and BLACK BELT codes included with particular Uni products as unlimited-use examples. Examples help identify the categories, but the specific insert’s terms matter for your code.

If the insert does not clearly state whether the code is limited or unlimited, do not infer the category from its appearance, source, or the fact that another code worked repeatedly. Check the product’s included materials and the official FAQ, or ask Bandai support with the code’s product name and packaging details. The published FAQ does not provide a universal lookup tool for checking remaining uses on an individual code.

Section 4

Confirm the device is ready before troubleshooting

A reuse question can be confused with a connection or entry problem. Bandai’s troubleshooting guidance is to check that the Uni is connected to Wi‑Fi and that the code was entered correctly. Verify each character from the original insert, paying attention to characters that are easy to mistake. Then try the relevant item check again. A connection failure does not establish that the code has reached its use limit.

The Uni’s network requirements can also matter: Bandai says it supports 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, while 5 GHz and 6 GHz networks are not supported. If the device cannot connect, resolve that connection issue using a supported network before drawing conclusions from the failed download. Bandai’s FAQ advises checking the connection and code, then using Items for a code that has already been used. See the network and download-code troubleshooting in the official FAQ.

Section 5

Use the result to choose your next step

If the item appears under Items, download it there. If the item is absent but the code is limited-use and has already reached three different devices, the FAQ indicates it will not work on a fourth. If it is an unlimited-use code, a device-count limit should not be the cause under the published rule; recheck the code, Wi‑Fi connection, and intended item, then contact Bandai if it still fails.

If you are testing a code on a Uni that has not received it before, a failed attempt alone may not tell you whether the code was previously used elsewhere. The FAQ explains the permitted use categories, but it does not describe a user-facing way to see the redemption history or remaining device count. Keep the original insert and note which devices have received the content so you can give support a clear account of what happened.

Section 6

Know what the rule does not establish

A successful download on one Uni does not prove that the same code is unlimited-use. A limited-use code can work on multiple devices up to its stated cap. Likewise, an “already used” message does not necessarily mean you must enter the code again: Bandai specifically points users to Items to redownload content already obtained. Use the category and device count to assess new-device eligibility, and use the Items list to recover content on a device that already received it.

Bandai also says downloaded content cannot be transferred from one Tamagotchi Uni to another. So if the content is on a different Uni, do not expect to move it between devices; check whether the code category allows a fresh download to the target device. This transfer limitation and the code’s reuse limit are separate checks. Bandai’s FAQ covers both code use and the transfer limitation.

Section 7

A quick decision sequence

  1. Confirm that the code is for a Tamagotchi Uni and inspect its included terms.
  2. Identify whether it is limited-use or unlimited-use; for limited-use codes, count the distinct Uni devices that received it.
  3. On a device that had the item before, open Network → Network Setting → Items and redownload it from the list.
  4. For a new device, check Wi‑Fi and re-enter the code carefully. Remember that the fourth Uni is beyond the published limit for a limited-use code.
  5. If the category or outcome remains unclear, contact Bandai with the product and insert information. The FAQ does not promise a self-service check of a code’s remaining uses.
