Read One Overnight Wearable Stage Chart as a Device Estimate

A wearable chart is a record produced by a particular device, software version, enabled settings, and available sensor data. It can be copied accurately without turning a short displayed stage into a verdict about the person or the night. This guide examines one dated overnight chart only. The device column preserves exactly what the product displayed, including labels, durations, gaps, scores, and update time. A separate personal-log column preserves ordinary facts the wearer independently knows, such as when they got into bed, got up, removed the device, or noticed an interruption. The two columns may be compared for timestamps, but neither is used to fill the other’s missing fields.

Identify the device record before reading any value

Write the device model, paired app, software or app version when visible, account time zone, date label, and the screen or export where the chart appears. If the app says deep, core, light, REM, awake, untracked, or another product-specific label, keep that vocabulary and its capitalization in the device column. Do not merge categories across brands or translate a score into a personal grade. Record whether the values came from a summary tile, detailed chart, downloadable file, or later recalculation. When totals do not add up because of rounding or excluded intervals, preserve the displayed values and note the arithmetic gap rather than correcting the product.

Record capture conditions and missing intervals

Note whether the device was worn for the full displayed interval, whether charging or removal is known, whether a relevant tracking setting was enabled, and whether the app shows an explicit missing-data symbol. These are capture facts, not explanations of a person’s night. Do not invent sensor status that the interface does not reveal. If the device offers no stage estimate, copy the product message and list the absent fields. If an interval has no label, preserve its start and stop if visible. Unknown remains a valid field and must not be replaced by the nearest neighboring stage.

In another column, record only events independently known without reading the stage labels: approximate time of getting into bed, getting up, deliberately removing the device, a remembered clock check, or a planned alarm. Mark whether each time came from direct clock observation, calendar data, a household event, or later memory. Use honest intervals when precision is unavailable. Do not copy the wearable’s stage transitions into the personal log, and do not use a vague feeling to manufacture a matching timestamp. The log is a parallel dated account, not a correction to the device output.

Compare overlaps and disagreements as record differences

Place the device interval beside the personal-log interval. Identify matching timestamps, offsets, missing regions, and events that appear in only one column. A device start later than the logged bed time is a difference between two records, not evidence that either record is wrong. A remembered interruption can be listed even when no corresponding product label appears, and a displayed device interval can remain without a remembered event. Keep software updates, time-zone changes, and incomplete wear visible because they define what can be compared on this date.

Close with estimate wording and no verdict

Write a final sentence in two parts: first, what the named device displayed for the named date; second, what the separate personal log recorded. Use estimate, displayed value, product-defined score, and unknown where appropriate. Do not convert a short or long stage into a conclusion, apply a universal threshold, compare the person with other users, or rank brands. Save the source screenshot or export with the card and record its access time. Then close the single-night review. Any later chart requires a new dated card rather than an automatic running judgment.
